The 2009 harvest offered a complex wine that is characterised by its richness, its freshness, its generous aromatic expression, and its balance. The colour is straw yellow, sparkling with fine bubbles. The aromas of pears, apricots, candied fruits, honey, acacia flowers and lime blossom form an intense bouquet.

In 2009, the grapes reached maturity following a perfect summertime which the Champagne region had not known since 2003. The weather was hot, dry and extremely sunny for veraison in the last two weeks of August. Thanks to a rainy period at the beginning of September, the grapes were able to fatten before harvest. The prompt return of hot weather on the 5th of September enabled the grapes to reach maturity under perfect conditions and to give great richness to the wines.

Champagne Lanson

Founded in 1760, Champagne Lanson is one of the oldest houses in the region. A year before the end of her reign, Queen Victoria awarded Lanson the Royal Warrant as an official supplier to the Court of England, and the House has retained this ever since. It is also the official champagne supplier to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Champagne Lanson rests on 4 immutable pillars: a meticulous selection of crus; a vinification according to the traditional champagne principle; a rare collection of reserve wines, and longer ageing in cellars.
