Champagne Laherte Frères
Champagne Laherte Frères, established in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte, is a family-owned estate located in Chavot, near Épernay, in the Champagne region of France. Now managed by the seventh generation, Aurélien Laherte, the estate has become a dynamic and progressive producer in the region. Laherte Frères practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, emphasizing minimal intervention to express the unique characteristics of each parcel. Approximately 80% of their wines are fermented and matured in oak vessels, including 350 barrels, six casks, and one truncated-cone tank. This approach preserves and highlights the distinct personalities of each terroir.
Description
"The NV Extra Brut Ultradition is a very pretty, gracious wine consisting of a blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir from eight vineyard sources. Perfumed floral and spice notes give the Ultradition lovely brightness to match its midweight, notably vinous personality. Orchard fruit, chamomile, dried herbs, mint and crushed rocks are all wonderfully expressive, if a bit light. This is an especially nuanced edition." Vinous
