Malbec

Best enjoyed with grilled red meats, lamb chops, smoky barbecued dishes, mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses such as Gouda or mature Cheddar.

Grapes for this wine were sourced from estate vineyards in Stellenbosch’s Helderberg region, known for its decomposed granite soils and cooling maritime breezes. These conditions support even ripening and enhance varietal expression in Malbec.

The wine was matured for 14 months in 225L French oak barrels, of which 15% were first-fill, lending subtle oak spice and structure to the fruit-forward profile.

The grapes were fully de-stemmed and fermented in a closed-top fermenter using a selected yeast strain to maximise fresh berry flavours. Fermentation and skin maceration lasted 12 days before pressing, after which the wine completed malolactic fermentation in barrels.
