Capensis is a family of three wines dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. The name Capensis is taken from the Latin word meaning,“from the Cape,” and pays homage to its home in the Western Cape of South Africa, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world Ancient geology and dramatic landscape form the foundation for Capensis, which celebrates the diverse and remarkable winegrowing potential of the Western Cape.
Description
The intent of Capensis Silene Chardonnay is to highlight the nuances and profound flavour profile that can be found in the Stellenbosch winegrowing region. A blend of our estate Fijnbosch vineyard and neighboring mountain vineyards, the 2022 Silene o ffers alluring citrus notes of lemon peel, grapefruit and subtle notes of nectarine on the back palate. Texture is given by a balanced hint of cream, elevated by natural acidity.
