The Capensis Fijnbosch Chardonnay seeks to showcase the pinnacle of purity from a singular site within the Stellenbosch District, and is only produced by our winemaker, Graham Weerts, during exceptional vintages. While our flagship wine, Capensis Western Cape Chardonnay, is sourced from specific vineyard sites across the Western Cape, fruit for this wine is sourced exclusively from the “Flowers” block on the estate Fijnbosch vineyard. Planted at nearly 600m, this block is home to the highest planted vines in the Stellenbosch District.

Capensis is a family of three wines dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. The name Capensis is taken from the Latin word meaning,“from the Cape,” and pays homage to its home in the Western Cape of South Africa, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world Ancient geology and dramatic landscape form the foundation for Capensis, which celebrates the diverse and remarkable winegrowing potential of the Western Cape.
