“Really perfumed! Night jasmine over sweet cherry. Lots of paper-fine, dry tannins stitched through lean but ripe, refined fruit. Wild red berries. A little bit of herbaceousness, some white pepper and allspice. A very slight rim of bitterness. Delicate Pinot, but all in balance. A wine that proves there is a future for Pinot in the UK – and once again, grapes from Crouch Valley showing exciting promise. I’d hold it back for one more year before drinking.” JR

Blackbook Winery

Founded in 2017 by Sergio & Lynsey Verillo, the Blackbook winery occupies a unique space under a Victorian Railway arch in Battersea, London. A micro-negociant, they specialise in cool climate, still expressions of pinot noir and chardonnay, working with vineyard parcels in the surrounding countryside of Southern England. They also look to experiment and have amassed a glowing reputation and loyal following in a short period.
