Malbec

This Malbec pairs well with pasta dishes and dark meats, complementing the wine's rich fruit flavors and velvety texture.

The 2-hectare block of Malbec is situated high up along the Simonsberg on Vrede en Lust Estate and was planted in 1997. This specific location contributes to the unique character of the wine.

Grapes were picked at 24.5° Balling and underwent a day of cold soaking. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by pressing before malolactic fermentation in 225L French oak barrels until bottling.

Vrede en Lust is nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg in South Africa’s most celebrated Franschhoek wine valley. The history of the farm dates back to 1688 and discloses a story of vision, passion and pride. Vrede en Lust is a family owned and managed wine estate.
