In 2015 two Dave’s Wibberley and Nel set out to change the way people looked at a bottle of wine. Spider Pig Wines was the result based on the simple premise that great wine should create wine lovers rather than scare them away. Since then we’re all about producing quality and removing snobbery. Inviting engaging not intimidating. And as the demand for our wines has increased so have the many fantastic winemakers that we work with. So every bottle of Spider Pig has been made with a winemaker who shares this vision. A vision where what’s outside is fun but what’s inside is serious.

Roaming Pigs are fondly recognised for their abilities to find delightful treats buried away all over the country side like treasure. Grenache from on sandstone soil on top of Piekenierskloof. Syrah from granitic outcrop in Stellenbosch Cinsaut from shale in the Swartland. Our classical layout that received a South African Design Award, lends itself to the notion that while some stay at home, we are Roaming for opportunity. This was an original design and links into our classic 9 blacks and 9 lives of opportunity. We won a South African design label award for this in 2019 it is an integral part of our marketing and design make up. Roam piggy roam was our original and the comeback is The Roaming Pig with the tagline, some stay at home, but I like to Roam. Which is an ode to us getting up and out there and doing what it take with our brand.
