"The wine currently shows red and black fruit, spice and white pepper plus a subtle maltiness on the nose. It’s rich and broad on the palate, initially appearing sweet fruited before an olive brine quality sets in. The alcohol by volume is stated as 15% on the bottle and it could be argued that it could do with a bit more freshness but conversely it has presence, even a quite gravitas about it." CE

The nose is slightly subdued initially but opens to lovely fresh red berries, worn leather, milk chocolate and cloves. Tannins are very much intact, quite boxy, but still fine-grained. Will benefit from gentle decanting.
