Saronsberg
Saronsberg’s winemaking officially began on 25 January 2004 with the pressing of our first Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Saronsberg originally formed part of the iconic and historical Twee Jonge Gezellen and consists of two parts formerly known as Waveren and Welgegund (also referred to by locals as ‘Die Erf’) the latter lying on the western slope of Saronsberg the mountain after which the farm was named and which spectacularly dominates the view from the cellar.
Description
This wine exhibits a deep ruby hue with a vibrant bouquet of cassis, red currant, and plum, subtly complemented by hints of cedar and tobacco leaf. On the palate, it delivers a seamless fusion of ripe black fruit, earthy undertones, and integrated oak, supported by fine-grained tannins. A full-bodied wine with remarkable balance and a refined, lingering finish.
Food Pairing
This robust red blend pairs well with hearty dishes such as beef stifado, meat tagine, tandoori mixed grill, and barbecued beef steak. Its rich flavors and firm tannins complement the depth and spices of these dishes.
