The grapes are grown in structured red soils with coarse gravel and weathered shale. The Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Grenache components are from vines averaging 16 years old, with a yield of 5.4 tons per hectare.

The grapes were handpicked, force-cooled, and underwent detailed sorting. The Shiraz and Mourvèdre were fermented separately, with the Shiraz undergoing extended maceration. All components were matured for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels. After blending, the wine was bottled and matured for an additional 11 months before release​.

Saronsberg is a Tulbagh wine estate set against the dramatic backdrop of the Saronsberg mountain.
