In recent years we have spent much time in upgrading and restoring most of these old vineyard parcels and we live in anticipation that we may be able to produce more bottles to share it with more people in future. Quantities are very limited currently, also due to conditions of drought (since 2017 and still prevailing).

The wines are produced without any additions and without much manipulation. The whites are whole bunch pressed. None of the wines are refined or altered for we believe it is not a matter of trying to bottle the best wine on the planet, but rather to bottle the most honest wine. It is essential that wine shows its true character and location.

The Sadie Family strives for wines that are fresh flavorsome refined harmonious and balanced and aims to offer drinking pleasure at the highest level of quality at any stage of a wine's life: the wine-drinker's eagerness for a further glass is their measure of achievement! The Sadie's two wines Columella and Palladius originate in the soils in the Swartland region which stretches north of Cape Town between Durbanville and Piketberg inland from the Atlantic Ocean and centered on the town of Malmesbury. Importantly the area has a remarkably stable climate allowing a consistent level of quality each year in subtly different vintage conditions.
