Patrick Sullivan
Born of the many rural regions of Victoria, Patrick had a nomadic childhood. His first vinous whiff probably came whilst climbing the Cambrian hills north of central Victoria on a farm his family once owned. All grown up and married he lives and makes wine on their own farm in the Strezleki ranges, Gippsland, Australia. The wines are inspired by emotion, a moment in time and a sense of place.
Description
A cool year and late harvest produced a wine that is light in colour, but powerful in spirit. The aromas are of pure red fruits – rhubarb, strawberry, and lilly pilly (a tart pink native berry) – as well as fresh herbs – tarragon, river mint, and chervil. The palate is long and defined, with fleshiness and power that defies the colour. A superb reflection of grape, place, and vintage.
