Mooiplaas Wine Estate
Mooiplaas Wine Estate and Private Nature Reserve is situated in the Westward reaches of the Stellenbosch Winelands, approximately 40km east of Cape Town. We are a traditional working wine farm with history stretching back more than two centuries. The Roos Family has been the custodians of this land for three generations. Our vineyards lie on the steep slopes of the ancient mineral-rich soils of the Bottelary Hills, where we produce a range of environmentally friendly wines rooted in tradition and artisan techniques.
Description
The wine has a pale straw colour with a slight green edge. It shows hints of lime, white pear and gooseberry with underlying tones of passion fruit and lemon thyme. The palate adds to these aromas, with flavours of Granny Smith apples, lemongrass and nettle. The wine has a good weight and balance on the palate, layered with minerality. The skillful management of extended lees contact is evident in the freshness and mouthfeel.

Pair with tomato or goat’s cheese salads, roast fish and poultry or light pasta dishes.
