Red

Meerlust Red pairs well with grilled meats, hearty stews, and dishes that incorporate earthy or smoky flavors. The wine's structure and fruit profile make it a versatile companion for various robust foods​.

After 8 months in oak, the components were blended and given another 8 months in barrel for harmonization before bottling.

The 2022 Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cabernet Franc (40%), and Merlot (10%) every parcel of each variety was fermented separately before undergoing malolactic fermentation in 300 L barrels and large Foudré.

Meerlust is a historic Stellenbosch wine estate with eight generations of family winemaking dating back to 1756. Best known for its flagship Rubicon Bordeaux-style blend, the estate also produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with vineyards shaped by the cooling influence of nearby False Bay.
