Expressive and layered, the 2023 is a fruit forward vintage with both red berries and dark fruit complemented by notes of wood spice, cigar box and graphite. The palate is rich and spicy, showing lovely intensity and depth of flavour. Dark cherry and cocoa notes dominate, supported by a finely layered tannin structure, beautifully highlighted by the Petit Verdot component. The wine’s powerful frame is balanced by freshness and elegance, leading to a long, persistent finish of dark chocolate and spice.

Our intention for the Estate Red Blend was to produce a wine that represents our unique location. Over the years we have selected varietals that best suit our terroir, planting them on the lower and warmer slopes of Klein Constantia. Located in one of the coolest wine growing regions in South Africa, we are able to achieve ripeness in conjunction with delicate tannins, allowing us to create a more elegant and refined red wine.
