Kanonkop
The name Kanonkop was derived from a kopje (hillock) from which a cannon was fired in the 17th Century to alert farmers in outlying areas that sailing ships plying the waters between Europe and the Far East had entered Table Bay for a stopover at Cape Town.
Description
This medium-bodied, dry rosé exhibits a delicate pale-pink hue. The nose offers aromas of sweet melon, candyfloss, and summer berries. On the palate, fresh and bright acidity complements the sweet fruit character of the Pinotage variety, displaying intense flavors of red cherries, melon, strawberry, and raspberry, with a creamy texture.
Food Pairing
This rosé pairs well with grilled salmon and tuna, sushi, peri-peri prawns, salads, quiche, and roast chicken. Its bright acidity and fruit-forward profile complement a variety of dishes.
