Nine Yards Chardonnay Reserve

This Chardonnay pairs excellently with rich dishes, such as roasted chicken, creamy pasta, and aged cheeses like Gruyère and cheddar​.

The grapes come from east-facing, high-altitude vineyards (250–280m above sea level) on decomposed granite soils (Hutton and Glenrosa). These conditions, combined with vines aged 32 years, contribute to the wine’s complexity and fresh acidity​.

Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels, 77% of which were new. This aging process adds a creamy texture and layers of complexity​.

The juice was barrel-fermented in 228-liter French oak barrels (77% new, 23% second-fill) from Burgundian cooperages. Fermentation was partially conducted using natural yeasts, followed by maturation "sur lie" for 9 months, with regular barrel-rolling to enhance the wine's rich, leesy character​.

Jordan is a Stellenbosch wine estate run by Gary and Kathy Jordan, with winemaking on the farm dating back more than 300 years. Known for Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and classic Cape blends, the estate combines varied vineyard slopes with a clear focus on balance, structure and regional expression.
