Jakob's Vineyards lies against the slopes of the Babylons Toren mountain range, near the beautiful coastal town of Hermanus. The farm has one hectare under Cabernet Sauvignon vines and focuses on the production of quality wine which expresses its unique cool area terroir.
Description
The nose shows cassis, black cherry and star anise alongside the savoury, herbal freshness of fynbos and fennel. The palate is full, vibrant and complex with ripe red plum, more blackcurrant and the sweeter spice of nutmeg and cinnamon as well as a subtle and pleasant pine forest flavours that asserts the cool climate origins of the wine - and its maker’s deftness of touch. Taut and lightly waxy tannins and a bright acidity augur well for ageing but this wine is supple and beautifully integrated enough to drink now.
