Grapes were crushed into bin liners for fermentation, after which it was pressed in a small basket press straight into 225L French oak barrels and then matured for 24 months. The wines was then blended and bottled by hand without filtration and may contain sediment.

Idiom is a celebration of wine and words. The award-winning range of premium wines stems from the Bottega family’s Da Capo Vineyards, which are located in the southernmost part of the Stellenbosch wine region, near Sir Lowry's Pass, overlooking False Bay. The range consists of big, bold blends of noble varietals and single cultivar renditions of Italian and Mediterranean grape varietals, all uniquely expressed in a Cape idiom.
