Cape Blend

Grilled or slow-cooked sausages, beef, and lamb all do a great job of bringing out the sweeter notes of Pinotage and bring out the wine's inherent smokiness.

Here after malo-lactic fermentation took place on wood staves in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then matured separately for 10 months in 45% new 225L French and American oak, before being blended and left to marry for a further 2-4 months.

All the different grapes spent 5 days on cold maceration whereafter it was fermented in stainless steel tanks at optimal temperatures of between 22-28C.

The award-winning range of premium wines stems from the Bottega family’s Da Capo Vineyards, which are located in the southernmost part of the Stellenbosch wine region, near Sir Lowry's Pass, overlooking False Bay. The range consists of big, bold blends of noble varietals and single cultivar renditions of Italian and Mediterranean grape varietals, all uniquely expressed in a Cape idiom.
