Colour: Deep ruby with a dark purple centre and a bright appearance. Nose: An intense nose filled with a strong line of cassis and a whiff of cloves. Lesser notes of blackberry and pencil shavings. Palate: Refined dense palate with a complex array of fruits. The middle palate is full and shows width with complexity and depth leading to a long, full finish. Fine tannins combine with tension and well balanced acidity.

These grapes were picked slightly later than previous year on 14th to 22nd April 2022 from specific parcels on the Estate with varying soil types. This complexity in growing has resulted in a wonderful intricacy in the wine. Grapes were picked at optimal ripeness to enable the correct balance between sugar and phenolic components. Individual batches were bunch and berry sorted, crushed and destalked to tank. Natural fermentation started after 7 days cold soaking.

Winter 2021 saw cool temperatures and good strong rains allowing the vines a chance to rest. Growing season was dominated by moderate temperatures, moderate rainfall and winds and a slow ripening period. 2022 harvest was a little later than normal due to cooler weather throughout the season, which persisted through harvest time and expressed itself with grapes of higher acidity. The season produced strong vine growth, good bunch and berry sizes. This is classified Estate wine.
