From a tiny 0.2-hectare Carignan parcel in Bottelary, comprising just four vineyard rows. The site includes dirty sandstone, juvenile greywacke, clay and iron fragments. The 2024/2025 season brought a cold wet winter, cool spring and a warmer ripening period with strong diurnal shifts.

Matured for 11 months in a 500L French oak barrel before blending and bottling.

Hand harvested in one pass. Fifteen percent of the fruit was whole-bunch fermented, with the balance crushed and destemmed. Fermentation took place in an open-top fermenter with indigenous yeast and twice-daily pump-overs or punch-downs. The wine was pressed to a single 500L French oak barrel for natural malolactic fermentation.
