Opaque bright red in colour with broody notes of wild berries, herbal fynbos and a hint of pepper and savouriness. Light to medium bodied, fresh on the palate with flavours of red cherry, spices and subtle complimentary oaking with an indulgent and lengthy dry and pithy finish perfect for pairing with food.

Caldera is a blend of three Mediterranean grape varieties from exceptional vineyards sites. This vintage the Shiraz is the dominant variety with elegant components from cool climate Darling and Paarl being used, the Grenache Noir is from an old vine vineyard in the Piekenierskloof valley and our best Paarl Mountain site (Stok-by Paaltjie single vineyard). The Mourvèdre is from the lower slopes of Paarl Mountain on the Fairview Farm. All selected for spice and contribution to an elegant Rhône inspired red blend. All the different portions came in during February of 2023.
