Although the Durbanville area is renowned for its SAUVIGNON BLANC that excels under the cool conditions where it is grown mostly on the cool south-facing slopes, the range of RED WINES also benefit from the warmer valley outskirts and opposing northern slopes.
Description
Nose reveals “an abundance of red cherry and fresh raspberry aromas with subtle hints of peppermint and cinnamon.” On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a velvety tannin structure, ripe red berries and a lingering finish of sweet baking spices.
Food Pairing
Pairs wonderfully with roast leg of lamb (thyme or rosemary) and wild mushroom risotto; other recommendations include dark chocolate‑mint and raspberry experiences.
