Durbanville Hills

Although the Durbanville area is renowned for its SAUVIGNON BLANC that excels under the cool conditions where it is grown mostly on the cool south-facing slopes, the range of RED WINES also benefit from the warmer valley outskirts and opposing northern slopes.
Description
This Merlot presents aromas of spicy nutmeg and sweet dark chocolate, combined with prominent dark cherry and rich plum characteristics. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with well-rounded flavors of prunes, plums, and juicy dark cherries, supported by soft tannins and subtle hints of ripe raspberries. The finish lingers with these fruity and spicy notes.
Food Pairing
This Merlot pairs exceptionally well with rich dishes like lamb’s neck with prunes, lamb roast with rosemary, and mushroom-based dishes. It also goes well with Boerenkaas cheese.
