Donkiesbaai on the West Coast of South Africa has been the vacation home to the Engelbrecht family for four generations. The grapes for this wine come from the small region of Piekenierskloof. The complexity of this wine comes from the unique Piekenierskloof climate which allows us to produce an elegant yet approachable wine.
Description
Pale gold in colour with intense aromas of orange blossoms, apricots, litchi and candied orange peel. A luscious wine with good acidity that lifts the palate and gives definition to complex flavours of orange marmalade, beeswax, quince and preserved cumquats, culminating in a clean, honeyed finish.
Food Pairing
Works well with sweet chocolate or fruit-based desserts, as it does with more savoury dishes like a cheese platter, foie gras or even creamy poultry dishes and even sushi.
