Domaine Hubert & Olivier Lamy
The Lamy family has been working in the vineyards since 1640. Domaine Hubert Lamy was created by Hubert Lamy in 1973. Before creating his own domaine Hubert worked with his father Jean Lamy. Today Domaine Hubert Lamy covers 18.5 hectares spread over the appellations Saint-Aubin Puligny-Montrachet Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay: four villages of the Côte de Beaune recognized for both white wines and red wines.
Description
In general, Olivier Lamy's pinots are worked on the finesse of the fruit and the elegance of the material. We find this frame in his Santenay but in a dimension a little more greedy, more extracted. The result is an intense Pinot with aromas of black fruit, violet and faded rose. Then come notes of spices with black pepper and nutmeg as well as truffle and smoky notes. The palate offers great energy and a slightly more velvety texture than usual for this 2019 vintage. Great finesse of the tannins and beautiful pinoting length.
Food Pairing
Stewed wild boar, pan-fried chanterelles and rice pilaf.
