Santenay Clos des Hâtes

Surrounded by Premier Cru sites, the 'Les Hâtes' vineyard is arguably one of the best village terroirs in Santenay. Lamy's tiny 0.67 hectare plot is in the original Clos - the walled part of the vineyard.

The Santenay `Clos des Hâtes` was fermented in cement vats before going into French oak barrels (20% new) where it aged for 18 months. Olivier does not add sulphur dioxide during élevage, which results in supple tannins in the finished wine.

The Lamy family has been working in the vineyards since 1640. Domaine Hubert Lamy was created by Hubert Lamy in 1973. Before creating his own domaine Hubert worked with his father Jean Lamy. Today Domaine Hubert Lamy covers 18.5 hectares spread over the appellations Saint-Aubin Puligny-Montrachet Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay: four villages of the Côte de Beaune recognized for both white wines and red wines.
