Domaine Eric de Suremain Chateau de Monthelie
Located in Côte d'Or, between Volnay and Meursault, Monthelie is a Burgundian village in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. When the Château de Monthelie was built in 1746, the cellars naturally left barrels of wine to rest there. A beautiful love story then mingles between this heritage classified as a Historic Monument and the passion for wine. Today, the Eric de Suremain estate, Château de Monthelie, is managed by Gwendoline, Dominique and Eric de Suremain. A story of men and women for the cultivation of the vine, the vinification, the aging of the wines, the bottling and the marketing. A beautiful family history that has lasted for four generations. In 1978, Eric joined the family business, created by his grandfather. His whole childhood was punctuated by the work of the vineyard and it is therefore from a young age that he helps his father and his grandfather. When Dominique married Eric in 1983, she was already deeply linked to his life as a winegrower, his passion. She settles on the estate and develops, in parallel with the work in the vineyard, the marketing of the wines. As for Gwendoline, she joined the family property in 2019 and at 33 she tends to preserve this beautiful heritage.
Description
The colour is deep and intense dark red and the aroma is elegant and concentrated of black berries. The taste is delicate and continues for a long time with elegant tannins, which are well integrated into the wine. A big and intense wine in beautiful balance. Very promising storage potential.
