A top quality Pinot noir sculpted in the cool maritime climate and clay-schist soils on the belly of Babylonstoren in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. A concentrated and powerful Pinot noir. All grapes are hand-picked and vinified in a traditional manner. Bright cherry, pomegranate and cranberry notes on the nose are underpinned by subtle cinnamon and earthy tones, with a touch of smoke from aging in small French oak barrels. Generous and full in the mouth, with sleek tannins and lingering red fruit finish. This is a powerful expression of Pinot noir that demands full flavoured and adventurous cuisine.

Traditional methods and a considered lack of intervention allows the Pinot to express itself in the cellar. A portion of the crop is placed in the vats as whole bunches, with the rest de-stemmed on top of this. Short periods of pumping over without air help to keep the fermenting wine in contact with the skins in the tank. The wine will stay on the tank for 6-8 weeks to ensure that all the potential in the skins is extracted.

Domaine des Dieux produces a small range of award winning premium quality wines. These wines are produced with the same fundamentals as the great French and European wines thus we encourage all our wines to be cellar aged in order for them to reach their full potential. The farm was bought in 2002 by two wine lovers with a dream. A combination of good quality grapes much patience and a love of champagne set the stage for Domaine des Dieux to officially become the first producer of MCC in the Hemel en Aarde region. The dream had become a reality.
