Domaine Albert Morot produces 10 appellations farmed organically on 8 hectares (20 acres) which presents Beaune and its terroirs through a common denominator: Full-bodied wines with agreeably fruity aromas; pure racy wines that express each terroir‘s distinctive qualities. The domaine also boasts one of the best plots in Savigny-lès-Beaune and a small Pommard production.
Description
A very ripe yet reasonably fresh nose displays notes of black cherry liqueur, plum, soft wood and warm earth. The sleeker and more refined but not more concentrated flavors possess slightly better verve on the lightly mineral-inflected finish that is firm to the point of being almost chewy. This robustly tannic but not really rustic effort is not especially typical of Cents Vignes and is going to required extended keeping.
Food Pairing
Ideal accompaniment to red or white meats, or cheeses such as Cîteaux, Brillat Savarin.
