Six generations of Louws have practiced the art of winemaking at Diemersdal since the Estate passed into their hands in 1885. More than 12 decades later Diemersdal is a well-known landmark in the lush Durbanville Valley one of the Cape’s oldest wine regions. Diemersdal forms part of the Wine of Origin Cape Town where cooling mists from the Atlantic Ocean roll over the vineyards every afternoon contributing to the unique character of Diemersdal wines.
Description
A vibrant, fruit-driven Malbec with an accessible, modern style. The nose shows ripe plum and dark berry fruit, supported by hints of black cherry and subtle spice. The palate is medium bodied and supple, with soft, rounded tannins, balanced acidity and a smooth, dry finish that highlights freshness and drinkability rather than overt power.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with grilled meats, burgers, roast chicken and pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces. Its supple tannins and ripe fruit also make it suitable for casual dining.
