Extensive bunch sorting formed part of the quality control process. The Semillon was whole bunch pressed, while the Sauvignon Blanc was destemmed and crushed, and both were barrel fermented at 17˚C for 20 days.

An uncharacteristically cold and wet start to the growing season, which ensured good dormancy in the vines, while earlier-than-expected warmth in January brought the ripening period forward. Overall, a promising vintage. Grapes were handpicked in the cool early hours of the African morning from four premium wine regions: Darling, Durbanville, Stellenbosch, and Elgin.

Maturation took place in 330-litre French oak barrels for five months; afterwards, the wine was blended and returned to the barrel for a further five months.
