Crafted from distinct parcels in Stellenbosch and the Swartland, The Black Lion 2024 celebrates Shiraz in all its depth and versatility. A small portion of Stellenbosch fruit grown on iron-rich “Koffieklip” soils brings vibrant minerality, firm yet juicy tannins, and nuanced mocha and chocolate notes, while select Swartland blocks rooted in decomposed granite contribute strength, elegance, spiciness, and a rich, full mouthfeel.

Aged in a climatized barrel/ maturation room (14 degrees Celsius at 80% humidity) for 18 months in 225 Litre 100% new French Oak barrels.

Individually harvested, fermented, and matured in fine grained French oak, each component expresses its character with precision before final blending.
