Superstar winemaker Gerard Perse is a force to be reckoned with. In the past 12 years he has taken several prestigious although under-performing Chateaux in medieval Saint Emilion east of Bordeaux and turned them into absolute dream properties. He also has acquired two fabulous wine-producing properties in neighboring Cotes de Castillon and made these amazing performers in their own right. Chateau Sainte-Colombe with its pretty label depicting a Picassoesque dove is a superb wine in every way. It is concocted from the two Perse properties Clos Les Lunelles and Clos L'Eglise. The blend is classic Right Bank Bordeaux with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Description
A full nose with notes of black fruits and nuts. On the palate there is a good balance of red fruit and acidity in the mouth. Soft tannins. Medium Finish.
Food Pairing
Best served with braised beef or tender leg of lamb.
