Notes of dark chocolate, fruit compote and blackforest cake are followed by plum, cedar and vanilla on the palate. The wine is show a fresh, elegant mid-palate with a robust tannin and velvety finish.

Grapes were hand-picked and sorted in the early morning at Cavalli. After crushing, approximately 7% of the juice volume was bled to increase skin concentration. 60% of the batch was fermented in stainless steel with 3-4 pump overs daily. The remainder was fermented in small open-top vessels with 10% whole cluster and manual punch-downs 3-5 times daily. After pressing, the wine completed malolactic fermentation in the tank.

With 27ha of vineyards planted in rich koffieklip soils and cooled by late afternoon breezes from False Bay our vineyards benefit tremendously by the unique terroir in which the vines are planted. The utmost care is taken to ensure that the vineyards are meticulously farmed for the production of only the most premium quality fruit. Cavalli Wine Estate is home to some of the best Chenin blanc and Cabernet sauvignon in the region, both of which have been at the helm of producing award winning wines. We also focus on Chardonnay, Viognier, Verdelho, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Shiraz.
