Silene Chardonnay

The grapes for this wine are sourced from select vineyard sites in Stellenbosch, including the estate's Fijnbosch vineyard and neighboring mountain vineyards. The vineyards benefit from a unique combination of elevation, cooler temperatures, and well-drained soils, which help to retain acidity and enhance the wine's aromatic complexity​.

This Chardonnay is aged in French oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and adding subtle oak influence without overwhelming the fruit. It has the potential to age gracefully for several years, developing more nuanced flavors over time​.

The winemaking process involves whole bunch pressing and fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is aged on the lees in French oak, which contributes to its depth and texture. This approach allows the wine to develop its characteristic creaminess while maintaining its bright acidity​.
