Cape Blend 2020

Red Blend from Stellenbosch, South Africa

Bottle size:

Deep purple in colour. Plums, red and black berries infuse the nose whilst lead pencil, chocolate and coffee notes add warmth and complexity to this trinity of cultivars. A full bodied wine with a palate of fruitcake, dark chocolate and brooding fruit is supported by granular tannins that add length, depth and longevity to this Cape blend.

We experienced good cold conditions during the winter and rainfall was higher than previous year. In September, temperature fluctuations delayed vine growth however, and in certain cultivars resulted in late and uneven bud burst. By the end of September, temperatures rose again with subsequent good vine growth. Small berries and bunches were the norm for the vintage due to the cooler weather during the growth season, this led to concentrated fruit and colour.

Chenin Blanc 2023

Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch, South Africa

Bottle size:

Colour: Pale straw in colour. Nose: Tropical fruit is supported by quince and peach blossoms. An enticing minerality lends backbone to the nose and pallet. Pallet: Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and refreshing acidity lends support to the clean fruit driven flavours derived from the nose.

A long and cold winter helped the vines in building up sufficient reserves for the 2023 growth season. Even budding and a cool growth season from September till January 2023 laid the foundation for good natural acidity and optimal phenolic ripeness in the grapes. Unusually higher than normal summer rainfall caused higher disease pressure and we were fortunate enough to escape any fungal infections. The rain aided the vines basic water needs and we had to irrigate less thanks to Mother Nature’s bounty. A few heat waves in February accelerated ripening and kept our team onits toes as we had to work hard in order to bring in the grapes at optimal ripeness. With the hot days and cool nights, flavours and colour levels increased and led to the production of concentrated wines with a lively acidity.

Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay 2023

Sauvignon Blanc Blend from Western Cape, South Africa

This delightful marriage of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay delights all the senses. Pale and light with a slight yellowish hue. The Sauvignon Blanc brings floral notes, quince, granadilla and minerality to this elegant and delicate melange. The Chardonnay plays its role by supporting the nose with citrus blossoms and hints of lemon curd that adds complexity and depth, yet at the same time not overpowering its partner. The racy Sauvignon Blanc`s acidity is tempered by the minerality and full-bodied nature of the Chardonnay. Clean fruit follows through on the pallet and a lingering minerality leaves it mark on the palate.

A very cool growth season led to concentrated fruit and high levels of natural acidity. The wine was picked at three different stages of ripening to aid complexity and balance. Sauvignon Blanc; each lot was fermented separately with a different yeast strain and at different temperatures to ensure a diverse flavour profile. Extended lees contact helped add mouth feel and tertiary flavours. Chardonnay; the grapes were harvested in two separate pickings to aid complexity and broaden the flavour profile.

Rosé 2023

Rosé from Western Cape, South Africa

Colour: Light pink with an orange hue. Nose: Sweet red berry aromas are supported by candyfloss and floral notes. Taste: Tart cherry and raspberry flavours infuse the pallet whilst a balanced acidity adds length and elegance to this medium bodied Rose.
