"The 2023 vintage of this white blend made by the acclaimed Donovan Rall on behalf of Netherlander Sebastiaan Klaassen, whose Banghoek property lends its name to the wine, leads with 32% Verdelho followed by 30% Chenin Blanc, 17% Viognier, 15% Roussanne and 6% Semillon.
The nose is shy, gradually revealing stone fruit, orange, hay, earth, spice and a little leesy complexity. As always with this wine, the palate has heft – full and textured with well-integrated acidity, the finish resolutely savoury. Despite its substance, the wine retains a sense of vigour." CE
