The focus is on producing premium quality grapes which are nurtured in the winery on the farm using traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern technology to produce classic wines.

This Van Biljon vineyards and winery are situated in the Polkadraai region of Stellenbosch, neighbouring esteemed producers Reyneke, Raats and De Toren. The region is known for i20 deep, fertile and well drained decomposed granitic soils and moderating sea breezes off False Bay lying to the South. The farm has been planted to all five classic Bordeaux varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Meticulous viticultural practices yield fruit with intense colour, concentrated fruit flavours and firm tannins. Good winter rains and adequate cold unitslaid the foundation for a good vintage. Fortunately the grapes were in the cellar, fermented and in barrel by the end of March before the Covid scurry. The winesshowed early promise, but Covid delivered much uncertainty! The growing season was moderate to cool and timely in-season rainfall laid the foundation for an excellent vintage. The wines certainly delivered.

The wine is matured in carefully selected French oak barrelsfor 18 months, blended and bottled.
