The beautiful Tokara Wine and Olive Estate is situated in the historic Western Cape region just outside the town of Stellenbosch and is framed by vineyards and olive groves. The estate is a popular destination for wine, food and art enthusiasts.
Description
This wine displays a brilliant old gold hue. The aromas are intense with notes of quince jelly, green fig preserve with hints of apricots and the obvious spiced notes of botrytised grapes. The wine enters the palate with a sweet honey character which develops into that of dried figs, apricots and quince. This all leads to a finish which is not at all sweet and clawing, but surprisingly dry with a slight grip of tannins which help to finish the wine beautifully.
Food Pairing
Best enjoyed with Foie gras or duck liver paté on melba toast with micro greens, or with a decadent crème brulee at the end of a meal.
