Springfield Estate
Set in the heart of the mountain-ringed Robertson Valley in the Western Cape of South Africa, Springfield Estate is a family-run wine farm owned by ninth-generation descendants of French Huguenots, who came to South Africa from the Loire in 1688 with bundles of vines under their arms. The farm has been in the family since 1898 and today, using a combination of sometimes risky winemaking techniques, traditional methods and modern technology, along with a sense of practicality and dogged determination borne from living off the land all their lives, the Bruwer family is able to handcraft wine true to its motto: Made on Honour.
Description
Springfield Life From Stone Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is renowned for its expressive and vibrant character. The wine showcases intense aromas of tropical fruits like passion fruit, guava, and pineapple, accompanied by a flinty minerality that reflects its unique terroir. On the palate, it is fresh and zesty with a crisp acidity that balances the rich fruit flavors, leading to a long, clean finish. This Sauvignon Blanc is known for its clarity and purity, making it a standout among South African white wines.
Food Pairing
The 2024 vintage pairs excellently with fresh seafood dishes, salads, and light poultry. Its acidity and minerality make it a good match for dishes with a citrus-based dressing or sauce, enhancing the freshness of the flavors.
