Creative Block 5 Bordeaux Blend

The Creative Block 5 pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as slow-cooked oxtail, beef casseroles, or wild mushroom risotto. It’s a great wine for rich, savory meals​.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from two coastal regions, Groenekloof (Darling) and Stellenbosch. The vines, aged between 16-19 years, are planted on decomposed granite with clay subsoils. These vineyards, located 7-20 km from the Atlantic Ocean, benefit from cooling sea breezes that moderate the temperatures, contributing to slow, even ripening​.

The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, with a significant portion of the barrels being first-fill. This imparts a harmonious oak influence without overpowering the fruit​.

After being hand-harvested, the grapes underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks for up to 21 days. Malolactic fermentation and maturation occurred in 300L French oak barrels (60% first fill, 40% second fill) for 18 months. Each varietal was vinified and aged separately, with selective barrel tastings determining the final blend​.
