The Sadie's two wines Columella and Palladius originate in the soils in the Swartland region which stretches north of Cape Town between Durbanville and Piketberg inland from the Atlantic Ocean and centered on the town of Malmesbury. Importantly the area has a remarkably stable climate allowing a consistent level of quality each year in subtly different vintage conditions.
Description
The maiden 2024 Sonvang vintage presents a compelling bouquet of Mediterranean rosemary and herbal aromatics woven with bright red fruit. This youthful, embryonic wine exhibits a subtle yet perfect reduction, hinting at long-term development. Powdery and firm tannins are elegantly structured and integrated with fresh acidity, culminating in tremendous length. The wine clearly needs time to unveil its full potential.
