𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: All Sadie Family Wines orders will be shipped from the second week of July 2026. "The 2025 Soldaat departs with a slight reduction. We opted not to intervene and bottled the wine with the reduction, as it often locks up extended ageing potential in the bottle. It blows off with a couple of swirls in the glass, and we recommend decantation if opened young. This Soldaat bottling on the numbers is incredible, and the usual red cherry and pomegranate fruit aromas are ever-present, carrying over to the palate, where they are met with fresh acidity. Grenache is one of the most planted red varietals globally and had a greater presence in the early 1900’s in South Africa. Recent indications are that that it is making a come-back and many new vineyards have been planted lately. The reality is that young Grenache tends to over-produce and in many respects its big previous downfall can be linked to this fact, but when a vineyard comes of age and/or is planted in a less forgiving site with reduced fruit load, it can compete with the most elegant and refined reds of the Mediterranean climate.

The Sadie Family strives for wines that are fresh flavorsome refined harmonious and balanced and aims to offer drinking pleasure at the highest level of quality at any stage of a wine's life: the wine-drinker's eagerness for a further glass is their measure of achievement! The Sadie's two wines Columella and Palladius originate in the soils in the Swartland region which stretches north of Cape Town between Durbanville and Piketberg inland from the Atlantic Ocean and centered on the town of Malmesbury. Importantly the area has a remarkably stable climate allowing a consistent level of quality each year in subtly different vintage conditions.
