The Sadie's two wines Columella and Palladius originate in the soils in the Swartland region which stretches north of Cape Town between Durbanville and Piketberg inland from the Atlantic Ocean and centered on the town of Malmesbury. Importantly the area has a remarkably stable climate allowing a consistent level of quality each year in subtly different vintage conditions.
Description
The 2023 Palladius presents a remarkably bright colour for a wine already two years into maturation. It shows a vibrant, limeβzesty and green apple entry, followed by a persistent saline note throughout. The palate reveals exceptionally refined and balanced tannins, harmonized with fresh acidity and a long-lasting finish. It is described as potentially βthe wine of the vintageβ and is recommended for aging in the cellar for at least 4 to 6 years.
