This robust wine pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted lamb, beef dishes, and hearty stews. It also complements well-seasoned meat dishes, including Moroccan-style lamb​.

This wine is crafted from Rust en Vrede’s oldest and best vines, with grapes selected from two single vineyard parcels—Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards benefit from the Mediterranean climate of Stellenbosch, known for hot summers and cool breezes from the ocean, which allow the fruit to ripen optimally​.

Aged for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 16% new and 84% seasoned oak​.

The wine is vinified separately by grape variety and undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, it is matured in 500-liter French oak barrels for 18 months, with a mix of 16% new and 84% seasoned oak to enhance complexity while retaining the fruit’s integrity​.
