The 2019 vintage of Richard Kershaw's Clonal Selection Elgin Syrah offers a refined and precise expression of cool-climate Syrah. Aromas of black fruits, iodine, and ground white peppercorns lead into a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins and a harmonious freshness. The wine exhibits a linear structure with layers of blackberry, black olive, and savoury notes, culminating in a long, satisfying finish.
Food Pairing
This Syrah pairs well with grilled lamb chops, lamb shawarma, Greek gyros with tzatziki, charcoal-grilled pork shoulder with fresh herbs and garlic, and pork with black bean chili. Its fruitiness balances the heat in spicy dishes, while its acidity complements rich meats.
