Clonal Selection Elgin Syrah

The grapes for this wine are sourced from five small parcels in the Elgin Valley, the coolest wine region in South Africa, situated on an inland plateau at an altitude of 300 meters. The Syrah vines are of clones SH9c and SH22, selected for their suitability to the cool-climate conditions of Elgin.

Aged in French oak barrels, 58% of which are new, contributing to the wine's structure and subtle oak nuances.

The grapes are entirely destemmed before fermentation. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, with 58% being new wood, to develop complexity and integrate flavors.

We produce only a very limited number of cases of Kershaw Elgin Chardonnay and Kershaw Elgin Syrah each vintage.
